    This filter takes care of keeping the textures detailed from any angle you look at them. Without it, for example, the soil textures would turn into a confused and indistinct mass.

    Our advice: Leave the anisotropic filter at 16x. The benefit, especially for soil textures, is significant and the impact on performance is extremely low, even on PCs with an integrated GPU.
