Real-time reflections are quite rare in today’s games (you have to render the whole scene twice), while static ones are much more common. In any case, the reflections on the shiny and chromed parts of many objects (weapons, cars, etc.) always have their effect, even if the impact of this parameter can be really conspicuous, especially in areas rich in reflective objects.
Our advice: set this parameter to High or Very high whenever possible, since in different games (GTA V above all) lower values completely remove some reflections.
